For 2020, Chopard’s long-standing relationship with classic motor sport’s jewel in the crown continues with the new Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Chronograph, featuring the iconic Miglia arrow against a superb deep blue dial.
Whether you use your sports watch to time a lap or simply to boil an egg, it matters not, a well-laid out chronograph is a dapper addition to any collection. Every year the race known as the world’s most beautiful inspires new editions from the event’s sponsor and official timekeeper, Chopard. This year they have added the new Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Chronograph to their portfolio.
This is not an empty tribute piece, the Chopard/Mille Miglia partnership is a most intimate one, and perhaps the reason for its longevity and its authenticity is the fact that Chopard’s main man is smitten by classic cars and embraces the opportunity to get involved as a competitor in the race.
As with all previous Mille Miglia Chronographs, the GTS Azzurro Chronograph is well designed and is powered by a precision COSC certified chronometer movement. A sminch of dashboard styling, piston-headed pushers and a super-cool perforated strap gives the model added appeal.
Against the Azzurro blue satin brushed dial, the white markers and the Mille Miglia arrow-framed date window stand out beautifully. The ETA 7750 base calibre dictates the layout. Positioned top and bottom are the counters for 30-mins and 12-hours with the 60 seconds counter slipped in at the 9 o'clock. The date window is neatly aligned to the left with further branding and fancy work reserved for the caseback.
As stated, the Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Azzurro Chronograph comes presented on perforated leather strap and the model will have a limited production of 750 pieces.
