The Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Chronograph Cermet
No other industry blends the old with the new, the traditional with the cutting-edge quite like the watch industry, and the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Chronograph Cermet is a fine example of such amalgamation.
For 2013, Jaeger-LeCoultre have taken styling inspiration from their 1959 Memovox model and have added to the mix a thoroughly modern material, Cermet - a combination of ceramic and aluminium. The result is a watchcase which is light, durable and wonderfully matt in appearance.
This is an extremely tidy design. The three counters rest easy on a matt black dial, topped with the trick little red dot chronograph ready/op/stopped indicator. The hour markers are razor-sharp and the bezel is tapering and generous. This model features an up-sized case, to 44mm so there's more to enjoy too.
Inside the Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Chronograph is the automatic JLC calibre 758 which offers 65 hours of power reserve and the piece comes presented on a fabric strap.
