Yohan Blake & Richard Mille Give Us a Poke In The Eye......
Is there a better showcase for a watch company than the Olympic Games? Of course not. Omega have almost made timing the event their own - the London 2012 Games has been their 25th time as official timekeeper. In the build-up to this year's event the brand have provided some rather spiffing ads and showcased a superb après-event hang out in the form of "Omega House", strange then that year's horological hoo-ha and fuss has been centred not around Omega, but on Richard Mille who had announced that a world class sprinter would be added to it's eclectic collection of ambassadors. Yohan Blake, who some in the media had already guessed would be the recipient of a new bespoke RM timepiece was then spotted wearing a very nifty sports timer on his wrist whilst running. All Richard Mille watches are noticable, but when it is clad in the vivid green and yellow of Jamaica it's not just unmistakably Mille, but does rather give you a poke in the eye ... even when travelling at a phenomenal speed.
More on the actual Richard Mille model will follow in the coming days, but if you have missed the Blake/Mille media frenzy, head over to Perpetuelle who have followed the saga right from the start.
