I cannot help but take notice when a new “Manometro” is presented, and the Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro Italia watch is arguably a head turner.

Many choose their wristwatch because they feel an affinity with the brand, perhaps through its association with a famous ambassador, or clever marketing. However, with a Mazzuoli watch it’s more about the man than the brand.

The man who penned this watch, Giuliano Mazzuoli is a designer of beautiful things.  He does not see objects as you and I do, he observes the mundane and is inspired to create wonderful stuff.  The Manometro was his first timepiece, and it was inspired by the profile of a pressure gauge. The result of his attention to this utilitarian thingy is a fine watch which is simple in its styling, yet it carries a substantial presence on the wrist.

The Giuliano Mazzuoli Manometro Italia celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Italy and it does so in style.  Featuring an epoxy resin Tricolore motif wrapped around its stainless steel case, the model is symbolic of the pride of a Nation, and it also demonstrates the finesse for design which is evident in every single Mazzuoli watch.

The piece also features all the synonymous features which make the Manometro special, like the classic diminutive numerals which are evocative of the 1970's and the charming, dial-edge busyness of the markers. With an epoxy resin finish, the shape-form which was already completely smooth is all the more tactile, apart that is from its distinguished knurled crown.

I have worn a Manometro, not this vibrant edition, a more sedate blue-dialled piece.  It rests a whopping 15mm high on a girly wrist, it mattered not a jot.  A watch like the Manometro quite rightly gets noticed by all and sundry, and this dynamic limited edition model is sure to be even more eye-catching.
